This is an album I wish I had gotten a hold of sooner. It took me just over a year since I first wanted to buy it and when I finally got a hold of it (yep, I first blogged about Mercy Street August 11 2009).

The thing I like most about this album is that the style of the songs changes but the quality remains constant. You get songs that may not be as upbeat but are powerful, such as don't Give Up and Red Rain and then to balance that out you get the more pop-y songs such as Big Time. I like nearly every song because they vary just enough to be interesting, yet still all fit together.

The only song I didn't really like is Sledgehammer, which was one of the biggest hits on the album. The song is good but the lyrics I don't care for. I suppose I'm just not one for songs blatantly about sex. They don't give me anything to think about and make me feel awkward when I want to sing along. :P Maybe one day I will grow up but for now I will skip this track.

It was hard for me to pick my favourite tracks. Clearly, Mercy Street is at the top and Sledgehammer at the bottom but the rest were pretty close to the top. I can safely say that this is one of my favourite albums. I look forward to listening to the rest of his albums!
